Belfast Interface Project is a membership organisation. Its members bring community experience, organisational knowledge and individual commitment into the shared work of supporting Belfast’s interface areas.

Membership is organised around community groups, partner organisations and individuals who share BIP’s mission.

Community organisations

Community Group Membership

For locally accountable groups and organisations based in, and actively working within, one or more interface communities.

Membership criteria

  • Have a constitution.
  • Are locally managed and locally accountable.
  • Are situated and active within one or more communities physically located at an interface between nationalist and unionist segregated communities.
  • Work on social, economic or environmental disadvantage, intercommunity tension, intimidation or violence, or barriers to accessing facilities and services across communities.
  • Recognise the importance of building capacity both within and between interface communities.
  • Subscribe to BIP’s mission statement.

Partner organisations

Associate Membership

For statutory, voluntary and funding organisations whose work connects directly with the needs and future of interface communities.

Membership criteria

  • Are actively seeking to meet needs within interface communities.
  • Have a remit that includes policy development in relation to interface areas.
  • Subscribe to BIP’s mission statement.

Individual membership

Individual Membership

For people with a demonstrated commitment to strengthening communities and relationships in interface areas.

Membership criteria

  • Have demonstrated a commitment to inter and intra-community capacity-building around issues of concern in one or more interface areas.
  • Subscribe to BIP’s mission statement.
